2010 California Household Travel Survey (CHTS)
The CHTS is an in-depth study of the state's household travel and activity patterns conducted from 2010 to 2013. The California Department of Transportation, Caltrans, and its partner agencies including but not limited to AMBAG, asked more than 60,000 households to identify where and how they traveled on a specific, designated travel day (24 hours). In order to ensure a sample that is representative of the state population, each household will be asked a series of detailed questions about their demographic and socioeconomic (such as age, gender, income level) and travel characteristics, and access to transportation. The data is used to estimate how much travel is generated by all households.
