A geographic information system (GIS) allows us to view, understand, interpret, and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and data trends.

The GIS Program analyzes spatial data related to transportation, land use, utilities, and planning. GIS is an important tool in managing, planning, evaluating, and maintaining transportation systems. The main component of the GIS at AMBAG is supporting the travel demand model, forecast, and planning.
