Municipal Program

AMBAG Energy Watch -- Offers the following energy efficiency services and incentives for municipal buildings in AMBAG member cities and counties.

  • Energy Assessments -- PG&E and AMBAG will work with member counties and cities to identify public facilities suitable for energy assessments. The assessment will recommend energy efficiency measures that could be implemented to achieve energy and cost savings.

  • Retrofit Project Incentives – Rebates are available for retrofit projects in municipal facilities which reduce energy use.

  • Direct Installation of Measures -- AMBAG Energy Watch may install energy efficiency measures free-of-charge for some eligible AMBAG city and/or county facilities, such as those that operate 24/7.

             Example measures:

             • LED exit signs

             • Occupancy sensors

             • Efficient lighting

  • Retro Commissioning – AMBAG’s contractors will inspect selected building’s to determine the current energy performance level and identify poorly performing components of the energy-using systems. Typical retro commissioning activities include resetting controls and temperature set-points to reflect current building use. To better understand the purpose of retro commissioning projects go to the California Commissioning Collaborative web site at www.cacx.org.

  • Additional Resources – AMBAG Energy Watch works with city/county staff to identify and execute energy efficiency projects.  If our program does not fully meet your needs, we maintain a database of other programs and resources for our region.  We work with each jurisdiction to help them take full advantage of all resources needed.  This information is also found on our links page.  If you still do not find what you're looking for, please contact us at (831) 883-3750

By participating in AMBAG Energy Watch, member cities and counties are taking a
leadership role by showing other California communities how energy efficiency
actions and measures can better manage energy use, reduce operating costs,
             and help protect the environment.
